(Cooperstown, NY) – The New York State Association of Cemeteries (NYSAC) held their Annual Meeting during the 85th Annual Fall Conference at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, New York.  At the Annual Meeting, NYSAC members voted to re-elect all five Officers for a one year term and three Board of Directors for additional terms.

“I am looking forward to serving another year as Board President and I am inspired by the successes of the past twelve months at NYSAC.  The positive response to the current NYSAC Board has been excellent, indicating that we are moving in the right direction. We are poised and ready for another exciting year of service to the New York State cemetery community,” stated NYSAC President JoAnne Sullivan.

NYSAC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the furtherance of effective cemetery management and operation for better community service. It consists of approximately 520 cemeterian and crematory members throughout New York and approximately 55 supplier members throughout the United States and Canada – all working together to provide professional services to the communities they serve.

The following have been re-elected as Officers of the New York State Association of Cemeteries to serve for a one year term from September 2013 to September 2014:

President:                                 JoAnne P. Sullivan – Cemetery of the Highlands, Inc.

1st Vice-President:                    Ray Planell – The Kensico Cemetery

2nd Vice-President:                   Valerie Newell – Bethlehem Cemetery Association, Inc.

Secretary:                                 George Baker – Webster Union Cemetery

Treasurer:                                 Richard J. Moylan – The Green-Wood Cemetery

The following have been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Cemeteries for a three-year term ending in September 2016:

Joseph Dispenza – The Forest Lawn Group

Jeffrey Reed – Mount Calvary Cemetery Group

The following individual has been elected to the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Cemeteries for a one-year term ending in September 2014:

George Weeks – Dale Cemetery
